citysocializer’s guide to the best celebs in Panto

Things to do

Like them, or loathe them – Christmas Panto Season is just around the corner and our favourite D list celebrities are fighting it out to see who can draw in the biggest crowds to local theatres over the country. Oh no they’re not… oh yes they are… (Sorry!)

We’ve taken a look at where the best, funniest and cringiest celebrities are appearing in this year’s 2012 Christmas Pantos across the UK:

David Hasselhoff in Peter Pan at the Manchester Opera House

Becoming quite the pantomime veteran, global megastar David Hasselhoff is playing Captain Hook in Manchester’s Peter Pan. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, he remains the world’s most-watched television star thanks to his years in Knight Rider and Baywatch. According to reports he agreed to play Hook because he couldn’t resist “a little bit of campiness.”

Lily Savage (Paul O’Grady) in Aladdin at the O2 in London

The popular presenter is dusting off his heels to bring back his character Lily as Widow Twanky at the O2 this year. He has recently said he won’t bring back Lily Savage to the small screen – because high definition will show up all the wrinkles! So this will be your only chance to see him/her this year.

Warwick Davis and Priscilla Presley in Snow White at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London

If you enjoyed watching Warwick in Ricky Gervais’ BBC comedy Life’s Too Short, then this one’s for you. He’s also starred in both Star Wars and Harry Potter blockbuster films, so Wimbledon Theatre may not be quite the career he was expecting. However he follows in the footsteps of Pamela Anderson and will be joined by ex-wife of Elvis and mother of Lisa Marie Presley, so it’s not all bad.

Coleen Nolan and Liz McClarnon in Cinderella at the Liverpool Empire Theatre

It’s three for the price of one in Liverpool, Queen of daytime TV and Loose Woman Coleen Nolan is waving her wand as The Fairy Godmother along with ex Atomic Kitten Liz McClarnon who plays Cinderella. And as if that wasn’t enough Coronation Street resident psycho Andrew Lancel aka Frank Foster also stars as the villain of the show!

Louie Spence in Cinderella at Milton Keynes Theatre

The flamboyant Pineapple Dance Studios star was pretty much made for pantomime wasn’t he? No doubt there will be plenty of leaps, twirls and pirouettes incorporated into his role as Cinderella’s servant Dandini.
